Synopsis: Skeeter (Emma Stone), a southern belle and aspiring writer in 1960s Mississippi, returns from college to find that her lifelong caretaker (Octavia Spencer) has been fired without explanation. Enraged, she decides to take matters into her own hands and starts interviewing the community of African-American women who domestic help to the wealthy white families of the town, hoping to tell their side of the story.
